Deon joined Fairtree in 2013 and is a portfolio manager of the Fairtree Select Equity Prescient Fund. He is also a co-portfolio manager of the Fairtree Equity Prescient Fund, Fairtree Assegai Equity Long Short Hedge Funds and Fairtree Market Neutral Fund. Deon started his career in 2011 in leveraged finance at IKB in Frankfurt, Germany. After returning to South Africa, he joined a boutique consulting and corporate advisory firm in Cape Town, where his duties included industry analysis and financial modelling. Deon holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree in Financial Economics and a Master’s degree in Economics, both from Stellenbosch University, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the European Business School in Germany.
Kurt joined Fairtree in 2013 and is currently a risk manager in the Investment team. In addition, he has portfolio management responsibilities in the multi-asset portfolios and leads the Quantitative Risk Modelling capability within Fairtree. He started his career in 2009 at Swiftcover Insurance in London (Division of AXA Insurance, UK) as a quantitative pricing analyst and then joined GSA Capita as an operations analyst. Upon his return to South Africa, Kurt joined RisCura Analytics as a hedge fund analyst before joining Fairtree. Kurt holds a Master’s degree in Financial Risk Management from the University of Stellenbosch. He is also a CFA® charterholder.
Anne-Marie joined Fairtree in 2016 and is currently a business development consultant. She started her career in 2003 at Sanlam and later joined Glacier by Sanlam as a business development manager. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from IMM Graduate School and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Stellenbosch.
Ryan joined Fairtree in 2016 and is the head of Retail Sales. He has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. He joined Momentum in 1998, where he held various roles, such as investment marketing, sales and distribution, over 15 years. In addition, he led the national team of Investment Specialists at Momentum and served on Group Investment Committees. Ryan then joined Investec, where he continued to be involved in the sales, marketing and distribution of the Investec fund range. He returned to Momentum as head of Wealth Management, where he was responsible for the full integration of the investment philosophy, house views, fund solutions and wealth management proposition.
