Fairtree Invest’s leading focus area is to develop and manage pioneering investment solutions in partnership with financial advisors for their investors.

Our value offering aims to empower Financial Advisors to enhance their own current investor offerings, to comply with future legislation and to build sustainable practices over time.We therefore apply a strong partnership philosophy with Financial Advisors when we structure and manage solutions for their clients.

Why Fairtree Invest?

Fairtree Invest owns a Category II and Category IIA FSP Licence. These categories provide us with the capability to develop portfolios that are unique in the South African investor market.

Our Mandate allows us to follow a multi-manager approach, blending the skills of various active and passive fund managers to ensure diversification and the mitigation of risk. Traditional asset classes and instruments such as direct equities, bonds, property, cash, ETF’s and CIS funds are successfully blended with alternative strategies offered by hedge funds. Our team benefits from the robust hedge fund capability that has been created within Fairtree, which allows them to identify suitable managers and to effectively introduce these unique asset classes to investment portfolios.

Our value offering to Financial Service Providers include:

–            The development and management of WRAP portfolio solutions in partnership with Financial Advisor Groups. These portfolios are managed with a multi manager approach and each group’s portfolios are structured according to their own unique circumstances and objectives. Our team accepts responsibility for portfolios that need to comply with Regulation 28. We also structure Bespoke Tax Efficient solutions, specifically designed for discretionary investment capital.

–            The development and preparation of portfolio illustrations, quarterly investor reporting, marketing material and any other ad hoc resources that may contribute to client education and asset gathering.  We understand the importance for Financial Advisors to promote and preserve the identity of their own brand and therefore provide documentation that represents their own unique brand.

–           Training initiatives and investment tools that will assist other Cat II Financial Service Providers to blend and enhance their current portfolios with Fairtrees unique investment strategies.

–           The development and co-management of Bespoke Portfolio solutions together with other Cat II Financial Service Providers.

Investors should take cognisance of the fact that there are risks involved in buying or selling any financial product and that past performance of a financial product is not necessarily indicative of its future performance. The value of financial products can increase as well as decrease over time, depending on the value of the underlying securities and market conditions.

Hedge funds are portfolios of collective investment schemes and are regulated under the Collective Investment Schemes Control Act, 45 of 2002. Investments in portfolios of collective investment schemes are generally medium to long term investments. Collective investments are traded at ruling prices and may engage in scrip lending and borrowing. The manager of a collective investment scheme may close a portfolio to new investors in order to manage the portfolio more efficiently in terms of its mandate.
