The role:
As the Accounts Administrator, you’ll be the main contact for all payment requests and queries. You will manage the daily payment process, from receiving the request, obtaining approval, loading on banking platforms, sending proof of payments and keeping appropriate audit trail of all supporting documents.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor payments e-mail box
- Obtain relevant approvals for payments
- Load payments on banking platforms (ABSA, FNB, Capitec)
- Send proof of payment to stakeholders
- File payment supporting documentation.
Maintain Cashbook
- Keep daily record of cash book transactions
- Request transfers and make deposits to and from the savings- and business accounts
Bookkeeping
- Capture supplier invoices on Pastel Partner
- Capture cash book transactions in Pastel Partner
Ideal qualifications:
- Matric
Financial Management / Administrative qualification will be an advantage and/or proven years of account payable functions, knowledge, skills and experience sufficient to be recognized as a qualification through – Recognition of Prior Learning
Ideal experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in finance department doing debtors, creditors, and general accounts
- Experience within group companies in a high-pressure environment

Legal Counsel – Private Markets

The role:

The Legal Counsel: Private Markets will report to the Head of Legal and will work closely with all teams within the business, including the Portfolio Managers, Distribution Team, Risk Team, the Trading Desk and external service providers on a day-to-day basis.
Main duties and responsibilities
Process
- Draft and/or review private equity agreements (including shareholders agreements, MOIs, loans, security agreements, sale agreements, lease agreements and other transaction agreements).
- Draft and/or review agreements relating to Fairtree’s corporate structure (i.e. group shareholders agreements, MOIs, shareholder loans, etc.).
- Responsible for closing of all private equity transactions (monitor CP fulfilment, resolutions, etc.).
- Responsible for monitoring compliance with private equity agreements (for example, monitoring future loan repayments).
- Draft MOUs for new business ventures.
- Facilitate engagement and management of external counsel.
- Draft and/or review agreements such as sponsorship agreements, NDAs and general office agreements (such as printers, IT, flowers, etc.).
- Review various Fairtree office lease agreements.
People:
- Share and transfer product, process and systems knowledge to colleagues.
- Collaborate and work with internal teams to deliver required service levels.
- Ensure achievement of own performance objectives.
- Share information with other team members regarding successes, issues, trends and ideas.
- Participate in your own professional development and career path.
Ideal qualifications:
- Must have a legal degree.
Ideal experience:
- Five-10 years of experience in a related role within the financial services industry (preferably in asset management).
- Must have experience in drafting commercial agreements and strong organisational skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel and Word).
