About the Fairtree Growth Quest Internship Programme:
The Fairtree Internship Programme is designed to provide third- or fourth-year students majoring in finance, economics, or related fields with a unique opportunity to gain practical experience, develop valuable skills, and explore the dynamic world of asset management. Through this immersive two- cweek programme, interns will have the chance to:

Programme overview:

Candidate requirements:
– Current third- or fourth-year students majoring in finance, economics or related fields
– Strong academic performance and passion for finance
– Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
– Collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn

– Candidates may be asked to complete a short written assessment.
– The final selection process will be completed by 07 June 2024.
– Fairtree will select two candidates for the two-week internship programme and invite additional strong candidates to take part in the one day programme.

Group Events Coordinator


 

Overview:
The Fairtree Group Events Coordinator plays a pivotal role in producing and managing the groups’ events and sponsorship activities. In this position, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining exceptional event standards, ensuring excellence in execution and delivering consistent brand representation and stakeholder experience. We seek a creative and detail-oriented professional with exceptional organisational skills and a proven record in event and sponsorship management and stakeholder engagement.

Each event’s stakeholder experience is integral to the event and how it harmonises with our various marketing channels for maximum impact.

Key responsibilities:
Event Planning and Execution:
– Conceptualise, plan, and execute national-level events, encompassing seminars, conferences, sponsorship events, client events (in-person and online), CSI events, and client presentations that align with Fairtree’s brand and objectives.
– Ensure that event budgets are approved, and events executed within these budgets.
– Ensure that all company branding is kept in good working order.
– Ensure that the marketing storeroom is in order and that all marketing and branding material is always accounted for.

Stakeholder engagement:
Collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and partners to ensure seamless event and sponsorship execution across diverse events and types, optimising sponsorships for heightened brand exposure and engagement while building real relationships with our various stakeholders.

Procurement and vendor management:
– Manage event, gift and collateral supplier contracts and service level agreements.
– Ensuring adherence to safety and health standards.
– Ensure timely payments to suppliers.

Measurement and reporting:
– Provide post-event reporting on client engagement.

Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree or diploma in marketing, hospitality, or related field.
– Proven experience in event planning, coordination, and execution, preferably in the financial services or the hospitality environment.
– Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with our various stakeholders.

Please note that the successful candidate will be required to work outside regular business hours and travel for events from time to time. The candidate will also be required to have a valid driver’s licence and vehicle and be willing to transport branding to and from the office.

Ryan Jamieson

Head: Retail Sales (North & KZN)​

Ryan joined Fairtree in 2016 and is the head of Retail Sales. He has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. He joined Momentum in 1998, where he held various roles, such as investment marketing, sales and distribution, over 15 years. In addition, he led the national team of Investment Specialists at Momentum and served on Group Investment Committees. Ryan then joined Investec, where he continued to be involved in the sales, marketing and distribution of the Investec fund range. He returned to Momentum as head of Wealth Management, where he was responsible for the full integration of the investment philosophy, house views, fund solutions and wealth management proposition.
